Welcome from our Principal

Ms Donella Munro, School Principal

Welcome to Flagstaff Hill Primary School — a school community where students are encouraged to Be Brave, Be Curious and Belong.

Nestled amongst the trees in the beautiful foothills of Adelaide, Flagstaff Hill Primary School is known for its strong sense of community, inclusive culture, and commitment to high-quality teaching and learning. We are proud to be a school where relationships matter, every child is known, and diversity is recognised as a strength.

At FHPS, we believe students thrive when high expectations are balanced with genuine care, connection, and support. Our staff are passionate educators who are committed to creating engaging learning environments where students feel safe, valued, challenged, and successful. We know that learning is most powerful when students experience both belonging and opportunity.

Our school has a strong focus on evidence-informed practice, particularly in literacy improvement, inclusion, and student wellbeing. Over recent years we have seen significant growth in student achievement through consistent instructional practices, targeted intervention, and a collective commitment to continuous improvement. At the same time, we remain deeply committed to nurturing creativity, curiosity, learner agency, and positive relationships.

Inclusion sits at the heart of who we are. We strive to create learning environments that are responsive, neuroaffirming, and supportive of the diverse strengths and needs of all learners. We want every student to feel that they are an important and valued part of our community.

Beyond the classroom, FHPS is a vibrant and connected school where students are encouraged to participate, lead, explore, and contribute. Whether through sport, music, leadership opportunities, special events, clubs, wellbeing initiatives, or community celebrations, there is a strong sense of pride and belonging that can be felt across the school.

We are incredibly proud of the culture we continue to build together with students, staff, and families — one grounded in kindness, growth, collaboration, and possibility.

It is a privilege to lead this wonderful school community and to work alongside such dedicated staff, supportive families, and inspiring young people every day.

We warmly welcome you to visit our school and experience the spirit of Flagstaff Hill Primary School for yourself.
